Yaozu Liao Deputy Dean/Professor Polymeric Environmental and Energy Materials
Yaozu Liao is a Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Materials Science and Engineering at Donghua University, Shanghai. He is a member and principal investigator of the State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials. He received a BS from Huaqiao University in July 2004 and a Ph.D. from Tongji University in March 2011 under Changjiang Scholar Professor Xin-Gui Li supervision. He was a Visiting Scholar in Professor Richard Kaner’s Group at UCLA, USA from October 2008 to October 2010. After worked as a lecturer at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology from July 2011 to July 2013, he received two prestigious fellowships Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship and Alexander Humboldt Fellowship. He worked as a post-doc fellow at the University of Bristol, UK from July 2013 to July 2015 and at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany from June 2016 to June 2018. Since August 2015 he got a professorship from Donghua University. He was awarded as the Shanghai Pujiang Talent in 2016, the Shanghai Shuguang Talent in 2009, the Changjiang Young Scholarship in 2020 and the Changjiang Scholarship in 2023. He was appointed as an editor for the Journal of Donghua University (Nature Science) and Journal of Donghua University (English Edition) in October 2020. Liao’s research interests are in the design, synthesis, and study of organic porous materials for advanced catalysis, sensing, energy storage, and conversion applications. He edited two books and published over 60 peer-reviewed papers on Adv. Mater., Nano Lett., ACS Nano, Adv. Funct. Mater., Chem. Sci., J. Mater. Chem. A, ACS Macro Lett., Macromolecules, Chem. Commun. etc, with >2400 citations. He was also issued 16 international and Chinese patents and has more than 10 patents pending.
